Wood Lane was a pleasant drive in the sunshine over a grassy track, followed by a restarted with some mud and a reasonable climb. Most competitors managed to get away, but I can image with a bit of rain it could be a real struggle.

Greenway Lane 3 Classes 1 to 7
Greenway Lane, Section 14 was a long rough track culminating in a diversion into the woods, class 8 went up first into a muddy, tight climb, the other classes had more room and a drier climb, although the restart was placed to make getting away difficult. For some reason the escorts had a particularly hard time here.

By the time I got to the diverion none of the Class 8's had gone clean, so Simon Woodall, who was the first to climb was really impressive. Even more impressive was the climb by car no. 41, who seemed to get stuck on the restart line for several minutes, before they found enough grip to get up the bank and squeeze between the trees.
